More Ways For A Life Reset

In my previous post, I wrote about resetting my life after feeling pressured and burnt out. Mine was a big reset, from quitting my job to moving house, but there are many other ways for a small reset because not everyone can just move to a new home for a reset. It was a coincidence that moving house was something planned awhile back.

So here are a few small ways for a life reset, which I have also been doing along with my big reset.

Declutter the space

This went alongside with the move. Since I am downsizing, I will not have that much space for everything I had, so I had to go through and clear out lots of things. It actually felt really good to have my space so tidy, with less things and mostly only what I really need.

Change the routine

Since I'm in a different lifestyle, my morning and night routines have changed. I tried to be more consistent with current habits and I also incorporated new habits. One new habit is making my bed, which I couldn't do before, because I was always in a rush for work.

Find new interest

Music is known to be relieving but never for me, until recently, when I discovered Lofi. To my surprise, Lofi music is very calming, and has the ability to take my mind away from the constant racing thoughts. Along with discovering Lofi, I got back into colouring. Listening to Lofi while colouring is my new hobby, because when paired together, I'm at my most calm state.

Change the thought

Maybe because of the pressure and burnout, I had been in a negative mood. I was constantly doubting myself and feeling that I'm a failure. Even after removing the main cause by quitting my job, I was still in despair, until my new Lofi and colouring hobby came. I suppose the calm state allowed me to process my thoughts more clearly, since my mind is no longer racing.

Take extended breaks

I recently realised the importance of extended breaks, after finding out how much of an introvert I am. Although I live in one of the top most overworked cities, where everything is fast paced, it just isn't for me. With my struggles in socializing, it get overwhelmed easily. Sometimes, depending on the situation, even going out for just a few hours can make me feel worn out.

So these are the little changes I've made to reset my life. With my happiness and positive state of mind being a priority, these resets are also the start of a slower paced and more intentional lifestyle.
